ABSTRACT

A male newborn, born at 32 weeks of gestation due to premature rupture of membranes, is hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) outside your institution. The baby requires some oxygen supplementation and noninvasive respiratory support, as well as gavage feedings, but is otherwise asymptomatic. A prenatal ultrasound performed at 22 weeks of gestation was read as normal. A pediatric surgical consult is obtained due to a large facial soft tissue mass, shown in Figure 61.1.
