ABSTRACT
In general, a standard frequency for quality auditing of a laboratory does not exist, except where it is specified in the accreditation cri teria by which a laboratory is evaluated. Planning an audit schedule is very individualistic, and it is customized to the requirements of the quality assurance program (if internal auditors are utilized) or of the firm contracted to perform the audit (if external auditors are contracted).
