ABSTRACT
In a research laboratory, the need to protect property goes hand in hand with the need to protect information. Labs contain highly sensitive and expensive equipment, and ongoing experiments could be destroyed inadvertent access. Secret if disclosed to the party, could compromise company's competitive advantage or the nation's defense. The investment in a variety of research animals is at risk should some animal rights zealots try to access the facility to "free" them from captivity.
