ABSTRACT
Codes are written in dogmatic language: "Minimum (area, length, depth, etc.) shall be . . . feet." The reasons for the code commandments are rarely stated, if ever. If the reasons happen to be wrong or obsolete, no one may realize it until after damage has been done.
