ABSTRACT

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia, BCR-ABL Positive CM L is a clonal disease of the hematopoietic stem cells that is manifested

primarily as neutrophilic granulocytosis. CM L is defined by the presence of the Philadelphia chromosome, which may be found in all of the myeloid cell lines and some lymphoid and epithelial cells. Characteristic disease phases include an initial chronic phase (CM L-CP), which without treatment evolves to the more aggressive accelerated (C M L-ΑΡ) and blast (CML-BP) phases.
