ABSTRACT

Syndrome o f abnormal chromatin clumping: The W H O classification scheme recognizes this variant of aCM L which is characterized by prominent clumping of the granulocytic nuclear chromatin, usually accompanied by hypolobation and hypogranulation. Erythroid and megakaryocytic dysplasia are common, but severe anemia and/or thrombocytopenia are uncommon. The W B C count is usually elevated but may be normal. The prognosis is similar to that of non-variant aCML.
