ABSTRACT

The cellular morphology of M L in the BM biopsy specimen may or may not

be reflective of that seen in the lymph nodes (LNs) or other organs. Discordance occurs in approximately 25% of cases. This is commonly seen with FL in which the tumor grade, as determined by the relative number of centroblasts, appears to be lower than that seen in the LNs. Table 11.3 gives a summary of the pat­ terns of BM involvement, cell type and incidence of BM involvement for several common lymphomas.
