ABSTRACT

Differential Diagnosis of ML in the BM Reactive lym phoid nodules are commonly seen in the BM of elderly people

and are of uncertain clinical significance. They may also be seen in patients with autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythmatosis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Reactive lymphoid aggregates, confusingly enough, can also be seen in the BM of a patient who has M L in another tissue without BM involvement. Several morphologic features are helpful for this differentiation (Table 11.7). The use of IH C and other studies for this purpose have been previously discussed.
