ABSTRACT
Pediatric Vaccines Neonates are susceptible to a variety o f infectious diseases due to the immaturity o f their
immune systems. Maternal immunization with tetanus toxoid or influenza vaccines has dem onstrated that it is feasible to protect a newborn through passive transfer o f maternal antibodies in utero. Several other inactivated, attenuated, polysaccharide, conjugate or subunit vaccines are being tested or considered as vaccines for pregnant women.1
