ABSTRACT
Previously published clinical series do not reflect the evolution of myocardial protection, anesthetic, and surgical revascularization techniques. Despite the relendess progressive increase in perioperative comorbid risks in patients undergoing CABG, results have remained uniformly excellent.1-4 This is largely due to experimental advances which resulted in changes in both the composition and the route of delivery of cardioplegie solutions to enhance myocardial protection.
