ABSTRACT

As experience with the ureterosigmoidostomy grew, complications of ascending pyelo nephritis, electrolyte imbalances, renal deterioration, and secondary malignancies at the ureteral implantation site directed efforts to provide safer and more reliable forms of urinary diversion.
