ABSTRACT

Table 1. Overview o f miRNAs induced by nucleic acid sensing TLRs, other TLRs, viruses and cytokines

This is possibly due to its repressive effect on two negative regulators of cytokines, suppression of cytokine signaling (SOCS1) and Src homology-2 domain-containing inositol 5-phosphatase 1 (SHIPl).69'71 However, a more recent study may help understand some of the discrepancies regarding miR-155 negative and positive regulation. For example, early induction of the antisense form, miR-155* by TLR7 can positively influence type I IFN expression mediated through its ability to suppress the negative regulator, IRAKM. On the other hand, suppression of type I IFN expression was mediated by the later induction of miR-155 and its ability to repress TAB262.
