ABSTRACT

It is a frequent and almost constant desire of our society to work relentlessly for as long as possible so we can accumulate good deeds of continuity and perseverance. What is it with all of us that we want to endure a difficult and over-taxed existence in this world? When should we pursue different and more humane goals? I would like to advance a new perspective and priority to my surgical colleagues. What if we could work less and be proud of it? What if we could reach happiness with a tamed and moderate life? What if we could maximize our goals with a simple existence? I do not think I would see myself uttering these challenges a few years back, even though today, I can judge them to be completely appropriate and worthy of special consideration.
