ABSTRACT

The irony of modern society is that we are consuming too much sugar for example in soft drink (330 ml containing up to 36 g) chocolates (40 gram of bar having 16 g) than what we need. If we look into the packet of ready-made food in a super market we may find that almost every product there is with the label, you will find the note “carbohydrate (x %) of which sugar (y %). Even some products may label “sugar free” but may have added “grape juice” which is rich in glucose. Some products such as bread, sauces, cereals, fruit juice and the ready meals, where one may not expect to find sugar, may contain sugar in different amount. For a non-diabetic person excessive sugar can lead to obesity (now becoming a pandemic globally),
