ABSTRACT
The processes involved in the combustion synthesis of solid materials can be classified in three categories:
1. Solid/gas combustion synthesis, in which the reactants are solids and gases. This form of SHS has been used to synthesize nitrides, hydrides, and oxides in the form of both particulates and large-scale solids.
