ABSTRACT
So far we have written complex numbers in the form a + bi. However, this is not the only way in which these numbers can be represented.
At an entirely trivial level, although we write speci c complex numbers such as 5 + 6i, with 6 in front of the i, when we write complex numbers algebraically, we put the number a er the i, as in a + ib. It’s all the same in the end.
