ABSTRACT

Compared to the wealth of detailed analysis that’s been applied to the ‘meaning’ of regular quantum theory, there has been surprisingly little work done on the philosophy of quantum eld theory. ere may be many

reasons for this. Undoubtedly some feel that quantum eld theory adds little, if any, interest philosophically to what we can already glean from standard quantum mechanics. ere is also the distinct possibility that the complex nature of the mathematics involved at its deepest level has put people o tackling this subject from a philosophical vantage.
