ABSTRACT

We can illustrate some theoretical results by summarizing the most important findings from an inventory conducted in the early 1990s in parts of the Zu¨richberg Forest belonging to the City and Canton of Zu¨rich (see Mandallaz (1991, 1993) for details). The inventoried area covered 217.9 ha, of which 17.1 ha (thereafter referred to as “small area”) served for a full census, in which the tree coordinates were recorded. Figure 8.1 displays the 16 stands, the perimeter of the small area with full census and the location of the cluster points in the terrestrial inventory.
