ABSTRACT

Migraine is more common in women than in men. Around three out of four people who experience migraines are women. Migraines are most common in women between the ages of 20 to 45 years, perhaps reflecting the various demands – family, social and professional – faced at this stage in life. Migraine attacks without aura, occurring two days before the onset of menstruation and continuing during the first three days of bleeding in at least two of three menstrual cycles is called menstrual migraine. Migraine is defined as episodic headaches lasting between 4 and 72 hours and associated with nausea, vomiting and photophobia.
