ABSTRACT

There are numerous commercially available products or kits with which an investigator can create their own single or multiwell 3D plates. For example, Millipore, Invitrogen, and 3DM are marketing a 3D collagen culture kit, laminin/collagen hydrogel, and a synthetic peptide hydrogel, respectively, for this purpose. These products offer a lot of exibility for the investigator to tailor their 3D construct to their needs. However, in most cases the preparation process is time consuming and well-to-well and plate-to-plate variations are likely to be high. They are therefore most suitable for research in academic laboratories or for tissue engineering and/or regenerative medicine applications.
