ABSTRACT

Microfluidics is one of a number of topical burgeoning research fields. Allowing the study of very fundamental physical processes as well as the development of highly applied technologies, the field sits comfortably at the junction of physics, chemistry, materials science, life sciences, and engineering. The highly interdisciplinary nature of microfluidics has made it incredibly attractive for a huge range of researchers to develop new techniques and to integrate old ones into new technology.
