ABSTRACT
Every state, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands has its own plane rectangular coordinate system. The state plane coordinate systems are based on the Transverse Mercator projection, an oblique Mercator projection, and the Lambert conic map-projection grid.
