ABSTRACT

Time-delays are frequently encountered in various complex nonlinear systems, such as chemical processes, mechanical systems, and communication networks. It has been well recognized that the presence of time-delays may result in poor performance, chaotic mode, or even instability of control systems. Control of dynamic systems with time-delay is a subject of great practical and theoretical significance. In this chapter, control of discrete-time T-S fuzzy systems with time-delay is studied by using the so-called Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approaches. Both delay-independent and delay-dependent controller design approaches are developed.
