ABSTRACT

The previous chapters give the analyst several tools to estimate the uncontrolled emission rate of pollutants: the mass loading of particulate matter (PM) or the concentration of gaseous pollutants at the inlet of air pollution control (APC) devices. When available, data from physically comparable facilities that are burning comparable wastes under comparable operating conditions can also be used (subject only to the thoughtful determination that, indeed, the situation is comparable for all key aspects: waste, design, and operations).
