ABSTRACT
The ultimate goal is to design out the need for maintenance. For example, if the machine uses bearings that require lubrication every 500 operating hours, a sealed, prelubricating bearing providing 10,000 operating hours results in significantly improved maintainability and the equipment’s overall availability.
