ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 introduced some of the key concepts in maintenance, and this chapter deals with understanding loss and effectiveness. I begin with overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) as the key factor in measuring both productivity and efficiency. In addition, I will address the new movement in the automotive industry’s use of OEE as a metric for capacity.
