ABSTRACT
A stream is a ow channel into which the surface runoff from a specied basin drains. Stream ow is historical data and is measured in units of discharge (cubic meters per second) occurring at a specied time. The measurement of discharge in a stream forms an important branch of hydrometry, the science and practice of water measurement. This chapter deals with only the salient stream ow measurement techniques in arid and semi-arid regions.
