ABSTRACT

Water is a scarce resource. Only 0.03% of the world’s water reserves are available for human activities. Population growth and industrial boom have increased the demand for water, while supply has remained constant. Moreover, inappropriate water management has reduced the amount of available resources (Allegre et al. 2004). As environmental protection is becoming an important global problem, industries are nding novel ways of developing technologies that do not cause environmental problems.
