ABSTRACT

Tina Grice reentered the conversation. “Moving processes toward the lower left-hand quadrant, the Organized space, is the place where the Six Sigma approach and tools are invaluable. The members of the leadership team had been taking notes furiously as Greg Sanchez explained the 7Cs framework. A rich conversation ensued, co-facilitated by Tina and Greg, as the team grappled with selecting the initial set of projects that met the “down and left,” 7Cs, traditional project selection criteria, such as time to implement and financial benefit. The conversation around the second question took longer. Eventually they selected two. The first was reducing the variation between “promised” and actual ship date. The second issue selected was more of a surprise. The project was to reduce the variation in accounts receivable for those clients whose terms were “net 30 days.”
