ABSTRACT

On any given day in this country, there are hundreds of thousands of calls for service for our emergency medical responders. e responders most likely to respond to these calls are referred to as, among other things, EMTs. e vehicles they ride in are called ambulances, rigs, buses and BLS units. Volunteer and paid medical professionals routinely handle these medical calls. Some of these are members of ¤rst aid squads, or rescue squads. Still, some of these calls for medical service are covered by law enforcement personnel, and ¤re department professionals handle others.
