ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to assess the potentiality of Virtual Reality as a technique to be adopted for color selection and evaluation purposes, by the elderly, in interior design studies. Two processes were compared: Paper-based illustrations and Virtual Environments. Twenty users, males and females, with age over 60 years, were requested to evaluate four bedrooms, colored with four distinct colors, after observing it in both display mediums and choose the prefened solution. The results revealed no statistical significant differences for the selected color and subjective evaluation made to the environments, in function of the display medium.
