How to Prevent Medication Errors

Many accidents and incidents are occurred in the medical treatment. The medication is related to many of these errors. How to prevent medication errors are big problems in the world. But in JAPAN, not only government and pharmaceutical companies, but also researchers made grate efforts for preventing medication errors. We developed the drug name similarity checking systems, and pharmaceutical companies used this system before approval. Other efforts for improvement of Labels of drugs reduced medication errors. This paper introduces these efforts and results of ergonomic and other field studies.
