ABSTRACT

Increasing complexity and cost pressure characterize the health care systems. Ergonomics has knowledge and experience to optimize working systems. Due to patient's individuality an adaptation is necessary: "Medicoergonomics" has been coined (Donchin, 2007). The recursive and hierarchical task-process-task-model is designed to model medical treatment processes. It consists of 6 layers, on the highest system layer: a case, on the lowest layer: medical procedures. Decision elements on all layers enable modeling of standardized as well as non-standardized treatment processes.
