ABSTRACT
Application of advanced information technologies (IT) is one of the most important factors of implementing concurrent engineering into the production enterprise. The paper presents a brief overview of the various aspects of IT application in concurrent engineering in some polish manufacturing companies mainly focusing on the following issues: identification of information technologies supporting concurrent engineering in selected companies, what kind of information technologies are used in the area of communication and applied dedicated software, what is the information technology influence on different factors determining concurrent engineering, the assessment of information technologies development and determination of the actual state of their usage in selected enterprises.
