ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Human factors and human performance have gained considerable attention in the petroleum sector in Norway over the last few years. This has been driven, to a large extent, by aims to improve control room design and developments related to integrated operations and their complex impact at the work performance level. The principal argument by major oil producers and the authorities is that the actual work performance has to be better understood in the Human - Technology - Organization (HTO) context, to reduce system vulnerability and to improve performance from a safety and environmental point of view.
