ABSTRACT

In the course of practice, most mathematical calculations made by biomass technicians and practitioners in various branches of biomass production and usage, such as forestbased biomass energy personnel (among many others), begin with the basics, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and sequence of operations. Biomass industry personnel should master basic math definitions and the formation of problems. Daily forest-based biomass operations require calculations of many types, so a foundation in basic and higher mathematics is important. In this chapter, we present some basic definitions and math operations that will aid the reader in understanding the technical material that follows.
