ABSTRACT

To test the hypothesis that cocaine was responsible for this infection, cocaine was incinerated on a metal copper pipe and the vaporized cocaine inhaled and then blown onto the feet. The decision to expose the feet to the cocaine vapors was made for two reasons. First of all, the tingling in the hair as well as the expulsion of materials from the scalp occurred only while the subject was actively vaporizing cocaine. The presence of cocaine seemed to stimulate whatever was causing these phenomena. It was logical then to determine whether high concentrations of cocaine molecules in the surrounding environment had any effect.
