ABSTRACT

It may not seem like much of a revelation, but the fact is that everything related to employee health and employee healthcare is interrelated. The  benefit design aspect has always been singled out as a way to conserve the utilization of healthcare and, in some cases, to shift costs. In a program that comprises an on-site service, it is also a way to ensure that employees consider and use the facility. Benefit design is one of the key factors behind program success and a predictor of program utilization. If there is no commitment of the employer to actually promote the facility that is being designed with advantageous co-pays and deductibles, the projections should be much more modest.
