ABSTRACT
In a legacy PACS system, short-term spin disks and long-term tape, or optical storage library archive are usually directly connected to the PACS server without a storage network between the server and storage. Though the resource or data stored on DAS cannot be shared by multiple servers, and it lacks the fl exibility of expanding the capacity when needed, DAS may still be suitable for small PACS used in independent imaging centers or clinics.
