ABSTRACT

Oracle Virtual Private Database (VPD) is a security framework that implements Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC) for tables, views, and synonyms. It was called FGAC when it fi rst came out in Oracle 8i as part of the row-level security (RLS) feature. It was later renamed to VPD because using VPD’s RLS each user will see a diff erent virtual data set-only the data that they are entitled to see.
