ABSTRACT

The principle of Just-in-Time (JIT) is to have the right part in the hands of the customer, in the right quantity, at the right time. This same concept applies internally (operators are seen as customers of the inbound supply chain) as well as externally. The question we need to answer is how do we create the rules, methods, and processes for internal delivery? Internal route development needs to have its own cadence or takt time, so before we start any route development we need to decide not whether we use a timed delivery route but what the rules will be for developing our timed delivery routes.
