ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to help you begin using PostScript (PS), a page description language with which you can create beautiful, precise graphics. Although PostScript can produce entire pages, interweaving text and pictures, we focus on Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), which is used especially for producing figures for inclusion in other documents (e.g., in LATEX documents). We present several examples for you to try. To go further with PostScript, you may want to consult the references in the “How to Learn More” section at the end.
