ABSTRACT

In the interaction of charged particles and photons with matter, electrons occupy a central position, bothasanincidentradiationandasachemicalreactant.Ofparticularinterestareelectronsliberatedfromgeminatecations,whichmaybefree,quasi-free,ortrapped.Suchelectronsareextremely importantforconsideration, inter alia,ofradiation-inducedconductivityanddosimetry.Sincesome energystatesoftheelectronmustbedelocalizedtoconferuponitanonzeromobility(long-range transport), electron localization and trapping have emerged as important topics of investigation (Anderson, 1958; Hug and Mozumder, 2008).
