ABSTRACT
As the title suggests this book is about surfaces and their measurement. This, in itself, is not a complete objective. There is little to be gained by just measurement unless it is for a purpose. So, the book also addresses the problems of why the surface is being measured, what needs to be identied and quantied and what is the effect of its manufacture.
