Summary and Conclusions

This final chapter (in the 1994 thesis) is divided into three parts. First, there is a summary of the results from the full-scale fatigue test series of nine riveted stringers taken from the railway bridge over the Vindelälven at Vännäsby. Second, there is a summary of the results and findings from the field investigations of 15 riveted railway bridges, and third, some general conclusions are drawn from all the results. The questions given in section 1.2 (“Aim’’) are also answered.
