Each patient is unique. For a flawless execution of safety, each caregiver has to plan the implementation with some unique steps that matter to each patient. The care has to be patient-centered. When caregivers are not engaged to this goal, the seeds of indifference germinate. In Chapter 1, we defined “indifferencity” as performance without passion, or without due concern or done diligently in a substandard manner. Functional departments must work together to sustain the foundation of safe care.
