ABSTRACT
One of the rst professional societies in the eld of ergonomics was the Ergonomics Research Society in the United Kingdom which was started in 1949. This society later became the The Ergonomics Society. In 1959, the European Productivity Agency’s steering committee on ergonomics became known as “International Ergonomics Association” (Reference 1, p. 4).
