MW 104.14; CAS [100-42-5]; used for manufacturing plastics, resins, and synthetic rubber; colorless to yellowish oily liquid; penetrating odor; slowly polymerizes on exposure to light and air; boils at 145°C; vapor pressure 6.1 torr at 25°C; freezes at −31°C; density 0.906 g/mL at 20°C; sparingly soluble in water, miscible with most organic solvents; forms peroxide.
