ABSTRACT

The applicability of different types of RBFs to ship geometry representation using global RBF interpolation procedures is the subject of this paper. The characteristics of different radial basis functions and their parameters will be observed, checking their accuracy and properties for 2D representation of ship’s test frame without and with camber. The quality of RBF representation will be thus tested for the description of form discontinuity as one of the major advantages of NURB representation.
