ABSTRACT
Many researchers have attempted to examine the underlying reasons for the police use of deadly force in North America, and numerous questions have been asked about the phenomenon of victim-precipitated homicide, also known as “suicide-by-cop.” is concept will be examined in relation to the police use of deadly force in North America and other democratic countries. During victim-precipitated incidents that are specific to suicide-by-cop, an individual will engage in a suicide mission by threatening the life of a police officer or innocent bystander. e provoking individual typically forces the situation until the police officer has no other option but to use deadly force.
